A journey between adventure and nature

A journey between adventure and nature: European Outdoor Film Tour

On February 1, 2025, we had the privilege of hosting a truly special event in collaboration with the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT), an unmissable experience for all those passionate about adventure, the outdoors, and remarkable stories. This year, the program shone for its ability to tell adventure from all perspectives, with a particular focus on how these experiences can bring people together, even in their most intimate and familial forms.

The evening came alive with a selection of short films that transported the participants to incredible places and shared stories that challenge both physical and mental limits, all while maintaining a strong connection to human relationships. Each film sparked a reflection on the importance of sharing unique moments with those close to us, whether it be an adventure in the mountains, a boat trip, or a journey of self-discovery.

The protagonists and their stories

Cycle of Bayanihan took us to the heart of the Philippines, where professional cyclist Samantha Soriano explored freeride trails and her own cultural roots in a journey that blends adventure and personal rediscovery.

Keep it Burning told the story of Edu Marín and his family expedition to the peaks of the Karakoram, a feat that pays tribute to the history of mountaineering and the strength of family bonds. A journey that united father and children in the footsteps of legends like the Huber brothers.

In To the Sea, Ben and Hugo led us on a unique adventure: a six-year journey aboard a raft they built themselves. Their mission? To travel from northern Sweden to the Baltic Sea. It was not only a physical challenge but also a journey that strengthened the unbreakable bond between them.

But it was not just the physical adventure that captivated us. Soundscape shared the story of Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind mountaineer to reach all of the 8,000-meter peaks. His unique perspective took us to the heart of the Sierra Nevada, where he climbed the imposing “Incredible Hulk.” A powerful testament to how adventure can be experienced and appreciated through the senses, overcoming all barriers.

Backyard: Freeskier Nadine Wallner, who has already conquered epic descents in Peru and Alaska, is fulfilling a lifelong dream this year: five freeride runs, 3,000 meters of elevation gain, 29 kilometers – all in one day in her home region of Arlberg, Austria. After years of preparation and waiting for the perfect conditions – clear skies and ideal snow – Nadine and her mountain guide companions, Yannick Glatthard and Dino Flatz, gear up for steep ascents and smooth descents. But between Albonakopf (2,654 m) and Westlicher Eisentalerspitze (2,710 m), things don’t go as planned.

Austrian downhill skateboarder Anna Pixner takes us on a high-speed adventure through tight curves and steep sections. At high speeds, Anna finds a sense of calm that often eludes her in social settings. In this risky sport, she has not only discovered a way to cope with social anxiety but also found an international community of like-minded people.

An event that will stay in our hearts

The EOFT 2024 program was an exciting journey of about 120 minutes, captivating and inspiring our audience. The overall length of the events ensured an engaging and emotional experience that led every participant to reflect on their own ideas of adventure, family, and connection to nature.

The February event was not just a film screening. It was an opportunity to meet people who share a passion for adventure, to be inspired by the stories of those who have lived incredible experiences, and to rediscover the true meaning of sharing.
