Discover the Nature Parks of South Tyrol and Alta Badia

South Tyrol counts seven natural parks and one national park. Furthermore, the breathtaking Nature Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites in the Veneto region is adjacent to "our" Fanes-Sennes-Prags park, making it one huge, seamless protected area.

A few of the highlights of this mountain paradise are the Fanes, Senes and Puez plateus, the breathtaking lakes of Braies / Prags, Misurina and Sorapiss, the Armentara meadows and several famous peaks such as Conturines, Lavarela, Sas dla Crusc, Sassongher, Sas de Pütia / Peitlerkofel, Sas dla Porta / Croda del Becco / Seekofel, Croda Rossa / Hohe Gaisl, Lagazuoi, Tofana, Cristallo, Averau, Cinque Torri, Croda da Lago. And these are just the ones that you can reach by walking directly from the campground or after a short drive.

1/1

Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park

The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park is the largest of the neighbouring parks and its entrance lies within walking distance of our campground. This park blends unmatched scenic beauty, high plateus of gentle meadows hidden behind a wall of jagged Dolomite peaks and slopes, several pristine natural lakes, a unique geomorphological history resulting in karstification in every imaginable form, a unique variety of plant and animal life, a magical and ethereal landscape where countless Ladin legends and myths found its setting.

Puez-Geisler Nature Park

The Ütia de Börz Alpine Inn lies right at the entrance of the Puez-Geisler Nature Park. It lies on the opposite side of the Val Badia valley, stretching from Alta Badia towards Val Gardena, Lungiarü and Villnöss. It is famous for the lunar landscape found on the Puez plateau, which is surrounded by the majestic and steep peaks of Sassongher, Odles / Geislerspitzen, Pizes da Cir and Sas de Pütia. The Dolomites High Route No. 2 crosses the park on its way south.

Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park

The oldest nature park of South Tyrol hosts a few of ist its most important symbols. The Schlern / Sciliar mountain, which can be seen also from the capital Bozen / Bolzano, the Rosengarten / Catinaccio where King Laurin had his realm, and the picturesque Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi.

Nature Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites

This park is a natural and direct continuation of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park in the Veneto region. Most hiking trails starting from the Camping Sass Dlacia campground lead to the incredible landscapes of this park. Discover the peaks of Tofana, Cristallo, Croda da Lago, the waterfalls of the Fanes valley, the canyon landscape of the Travenanzes valley, or the remains of First World War fortifications in Lagazuoi, Valparola, and Cinque Torri.
