Nordic skiing at Passo delle Erbe
Cross-country skiing, the oldest form of skiing once practiced by the Sami people of Scandinavia, remains one of the most complete and revitalizing sports today.
From Ütia de Börz, at over 2,000 meters, two cross-country skiing trails stretch across 18 km of pristine terrain. Perfectly groomed by snowcat, they wind through vast alpine meadows framed by the majestic Sass de Pütia and Odle peaks, offering a serene, immersive experience in the heart of the Dolomites.
Cross-Country skiing techniques
Choose your rhythm on the snow
Cross-country skiing offers two unique ways to explore the Dolomites.
The classic technique, gentle and flowing, follows parallel tracks and is perfect for beginners or those who want a relaxed, scenic experience.
Skating style, more dynamic and demanding, uses a side-to-side motion similar to ice skating, requiring balance and coordination.
Both techniques let you glide through snow-covered valleys, alpine meadows, and forests, blending physical activity with the serenity of the mountains.
Whether you prefer steady strides or energetic pushes, each style immerses you fully in the winter beauty of Val Badia.
Where every trail leads to silence and snow
Cross-country at your doorstep
The Roda de Börz is an easy 3.4 km loop that circles the base of the majestic Sass de Pütia. Perfect for beginners, it offers a gentle pace through pristine snowfields with sweeping views from Plan de Corones to Plose, Monte Muro, and Costaces — a true winter postcard.
For seasoned skiers, the Börz–Halslhütte cross-country trail offers 16 km of medium-difficulty terrain leading toward Val di Funes. This snow-covered alpine road, closed to traffic in winter, becomes a peaceful route through untouched Dolomite beauty.
