Spring at Passo delle Erbe is a season of renewal — when days grow longer, the air turns warmer, and nature awakens from its winter rest. The meadows slowly regain their vibrant green, flowers begin to bloom, and the Dolomites reveal their quiet, pristine beauty once again.

This is the perfect time to enjoy peaceful snowshoe walks on the last patches of snow or set out on the first hikes of the season. With the reopening of the pass in both directions, spring marks the beginning of the hiking, biking, and exploration season.

As the snow melts, the trails invite you to wander through silent forests and blooming alpine pastures, where the scents and colours of nature return in all their splendour.

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisper, nature in the Dolomites puts on one of its most spectacular displays. The trees shed their summer greens and transform into a fleeting explosion of gold, orange, and crimson. This breathtaking transformation can be admired in the forests of Passo delle Erbe and throughout the surrounding valleys.

For many trekking enthusiasts, autumn is the most magical season in the mountains. The trails are quieter, the landscapes more vivid, and the atmosphere filled with peace. It’s the perfect time to rediscover the beauty of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, surrounded by the glowing colours of autumn foliage.

During this season, hikers should pay attention to shorter daylight hours and cooler temperatures, and always wear appropriate clothing. Yet, September and October are among the driest months in Val Badia and South Tyrol, offering ideal conditions for exploring — without the summer crowds, just you, the trail, and the silence of the Dolomites.
