South Tyrol counts seven nature parks and one national park.

Each park has its own unique character: from the rugged beauty of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park to the serene landscapes of Puez-Odle, every corner tells a story of geological wonder and ecological richness.

A masterpiece of the Dolomites

The Puez-Geisler Nature Park unfolds like a living masterpiece across the opposite side of Val Badia, stretching from Alta Badia toward Val Gardena, Lungiarü, and Villnöss. At its gateway stands the Ütia de Börz Alpine Inn, perfectly positioned to welcome explorers into this realm of wild beauty and alpine wonder.

Here, the landscape shifts dramatically: the Puez plateau reveals a surreal, lunar-like terrain, stark yet mesmerizing, framed by the towering, jagged peaks of Sassongher, the Odle / Geislerspitzen, Pizes da Cir, and Sas de Pütia. Every turn offers a new perspective: craggy ridges, hidden valleys, and vibrant alpine meadows that bloom in riotous color during the warmer months.

The Dolomites High Route No. 2 winds its way through the park, inviting hikers to trace a path through geological wonders, rich biodiversity, and landscapes steeped in Ladin legends and myths. From sunrise to sunset, Puez-Geisler is a place where adventure, solitude, and the raw beauty of the Dolomites converge, creating memories that linger long after the journey ends.

Nature in its most enchanting form

The Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, in the heart of Val Badia, stretches as the largest of the neighboring parks, with its gateway just a short walk from Camping Sass Dlacia.

Here, nature reveals its most enchanting forms: high plateaus of gentle meadows tucked behind jagged Dolomite peaks, crystal-clear alpine lakes mirroring the sky, and a landscape sculpted over millennia into dramatic karst formations.

Every corner bursts with life, from rare plants to elusive wildlife, while the air carries the echoes of ancient Ladin legends, setting the stage for a world that feels timeless, magical, and utterly alive.
