Our surroundings

The hut is a worthwhile destination. From the Pe de Börz parking area, trail no. 1 leads through Swiss stone pine forests to Monte Muro Refuge (2,230 m), offering local cuisine and wide alpine views.

Ütia de Pecol (1,930 m) is a peaceful mountain hut surrounded by Swiss stone pines, with views of Sass de Putia. A 40-minute walk from Pe de Börz, it offers local cuisine, a sunny terrace, and a family-friendly atmosphere.

Ütia Fornella (2,080 m), at the foot of Sass de Putia, is a family-friendly alpine hut reached in 20 minutes from Passo delle Erbe. Hikers appreciate its easy access and the Highland cattle grazing nearby.

Built in 1898, the Genova Refuge (2,306 m) lies between Sass de Putia and the Odle Group, at the crossroads of Val di Funes and Ladin valleys. The Dolomites High Routes 2 and 8 pass directly by.

Ladin is the region’s oldest living language, still widely spoken today. Since 1977, the Micurà de Rü Institute has promoted Ladin culture worldwide. The Ladin Museum Ciastel de Tor explores its history and deep ties to the Dolomites.

In Longiarü, the Valle dei Mulini features eight restored historic water mills along a 1.5 km walk. For farm life traditions, the Farmer’s Museum Luch de Oriana showcases tools and stories from a traditional Alpine farm.

The city of Brunico blends South Tyrolean culture, shops, and cafés. Nearby museums MMM Ripa and MMM Corones explore mountain life, while the LUMEN showcases the history of alpine photography through interactive exhibitions.

Brixen, the oldest town in Tyrol, enchants with its historic center of narrow streets and arcades. First mentioned in 901, it blends rich architectural heritage with lively modern life, making it a captivating place to explore on foot.

Törggelen originates in South Tyrol’s Eisack Valley. From late September to mid-November, traditional taverns welcome guests to enjoy local wine, roasted chestnuts (“Keschtn”), and hearty dishes in cozy farmhouse stube.
